The battery is the centrepiece of modern electric drive concepts. In order to make this electric energy storage unit as efficient, powerful, cost-effective and safe as possible, together with our international multidisciplinary Battery-Technologies team  of scientists, students, engineers and technicians you will develop the next generation of energy storage materials for a sustainable electromobility.

Senior Scientist (m/f/d) Solid State Battery

CENTER FOR TRANSPORT TECHNOLOGIES

  • As a Senior Scientist, you will contribute to the development of the research and business strategy of the Battery Technology topics.
  • You identify relevant developments in your field and design and acquire corresponding, thematically related national and international research and client projects
  • As part of your research, you develop concepts, specifications and procedures for the development of new materials for energy storage applications with particular focus on Solid State Batteries.
  • You lead our national and international research and client projects and a team of researchers.
  • You will shape the group’s research strategy and development roadmap.
  • You will define and write research proposals.
  • You write impactful scientific publications and will motivate and support other scientists in doing so.
  • You will work together with a team of multidisciplinary scientists and research engineers whose continuous qualification you will support on an ongoing basis.
  • You build a network with both industrial and academic partners.
  • You supervise international interns, master and PhD students of our units.
  • Your innovative results, which you present both in high-ranking publications and at conferences, contribute to the success of our current research projects.
  • You will actively contribute your knowledge to the research team and your results will build your own expertise and international recognition within the area and you will continuously expand your unit’s internationally visible scientific profile.
Your qualifications as an Ingenious Partner:
  • You hold a PhD degree in chemistry, physics or materials science
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in electrochemical characterisation and materials development for energy storage (use of Maccor, Biologic or comparable systems)
  • You have experiences in Lithium-ion technologies and significant experiences with solid-state battery systems
  • Experience in publishing in high-ranking journals and renowned conferences
  • Experience in leading complex research projects and leading teams of experts
  • You are a good communicator and highly motivated team player
  • Very good English (written and spoken at technical level), German desirable, but not necessary


What to expect:
The gross annual salary according to the collective agreement amounts to at least EUR 61.614,-- as a basis and is supplemented by further, variable salary components. The actual total salary package is determined individually according to your qualifications and experience.
