Our Center for Digital Safety & Security is looking for new Ingenious Partner for our location in Vienna. In the Center for Digital Safety & Security we develop state-of-the-art information and communication technologies to ensure that our systems are highly secure and reliable in the context of comprehensive digitalisation and global networking – Hereby we focus on a variety of key technologies like Distributed IT Systems, Internet of Things, IoT, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain Technologies, Quantum & Photonic Technologies, Wireless Systems (6G) and Digital solutions for crisis & disaster management.
 
Our experts from the Competence Unit Cooperative Digital Technologies work on the development of data-based IT solutions for various application scenarios, including the design of new and innovative solutions supporting communities in increasing their resilience and achieving their sustainable development goals (SDG). As a reliable partner of industry and public authorities, we work on digital tools for a sustainable and resilient society based on current research results and in collaboration with end users and our customers.
 
The focus of our applications is on climate change impact assessment and the protection of society during crises and disasters.

Research Engineer (m/f/d) for Digital Transformation & Sustainability

CENTER FOR DIGITAL SAFETY & SECURITY

  • You are part of an interdisciplinary team and contribute to setting up, expanding, and improving our digitalisation efforts for resilient communities. Your particular focus lies in enhancing resilience to climate challenges through the integration of emerging technologies across various communities.
  • You engage stakeholders to gather requirements and feedback for diverse projects within Sustainable & Resilient Society Research Field.
  • You analyse business and administrative processes to facilitate digitalisation in different domains, including public administration, communities, and industry.
  • You explore researching and analysing best practices for sustainability, resilience, and digital transformation across various domains.
  • You provide support in coordinating project activities to ensure they're completed in a timely manner, staying within budget and scope.
  • You collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement digital technologies in projects aimed at fostering sustainable and resilient industries and communities.
  • You assist in devising strategies to boost the sustainability of digital platforms and engagement.
  • You generate inventive research ideas and cultivate them into proposals and applied projects as part of an agile research team.
  • You contribute to peer-reviewed journals, highlighting research project findings, and present these findings at conferences.
  • You remain knowledgeable about eco-conscious methods for digital community development.
Your qualifications as an Ingenious Partner:
  • University degree in in sustainability economics, digital transformation, economics, business informatics, environmental science, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in industry and/or applied science environment, fulfilling scientific and business-related goals
  • Proven experience in project coordination or in medium-sized project teams
  • Passion for sustainability and environmental stewardship.
  • Experience in planning and conducting physical or virtual workshops
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills both verbal and written in English
  • Knowledge of digitalisation sustainability frameworks and principles is a plus.
  • Familiarity with digital platforms and online community management.


What to expect:
The minimum gross annual salary on a full-time basis (38,5 h / week) according to the collective agreement is EUR 57.890 The actual salary will be determined individually, based on your qualifications and experience.
