Our Center for Energy is looking for new Ingenious Partner for our location in Vienna. The thematic portfolio is based on three central systems: Public Energy Supply Systems, Industrial Processes and Cities & Built Environment. The main research areas at the Center focus on the enhanced integration of renewable energies, the decarbonisation of industrial processes and facilities, and innovative technologies and solutions for resilient cities and urban resilience.
Our experts from the research field of "Hybrid Power Plants" work on applied projects with renewable generation plants and storage systems. They focus on the development and evaluation of photovoltaic systems for the energy transition.
Research Engineer (f/m/d) for Photovoltaic Systems
CENTER FOR ENERGY
- You take on the technical optimisation of photovoltaic systems and develop methods, procedures, and systems for measurement, evaluation, and analysis.
- You work as part of a team to develop innovative tools and processes for model-based planning and analysis of photovoltaic systems.
- The tools and methods you help develop are used in research and industry projects and are made available to customers.
- You lead and coordinate research and industry projects, oversee the implementation of innovative business models and system concepts for photovoltaics and storage systems, and thus contribute to the development of practical solutions.
- Your innovative approaches and the continuous expansion of your network with key stakeholders from industry, research, and the energy sector promote the success and sustainable development of our research projects.
Your qualifications as an Ingenious Partner:
- Completed technical studies (at least MSc.) in electrical engineering with a focus on computer science or similar fields (e.g., mechatronics, automation technology, energy technology, embedded systems, or technical physics).
- Several years of professional experience in the field of photovoltaic systems and specific subcomponents (PV modules, power electronics, ICT, etc.).
- Solid programming skills for analysing measurement data (especially Python).
- A good understanding of current technologies and systems in the field of renewable energies, electrical grids, and storage systems is an advantage.
- Experience with small to medium-sized projects in the context of applied research or similar projects.
- High level of commitment, teamwork skills, and motivation to drive and develop innovative solutions.
- Good proficiency in English and German (spoken & written).
What to expect:
The minimum gross annual salary on a full-time basis (38,5 h / week) according to the collective agreement is EUR 59.934,--. The actual salary will be determined individually, based on your qualifications and experience.
