Our Center for Vision, Automation & Control is looking for new Ingenious Partner for our location in Vienna. The Center exploits the opportunities provided by automation and digitisation to initiate and advance innovation for industry, primarily in Austria and Europe. Our main goal is to take away the monotonous, heavy, difficult, and dangerous aspects of people’s work through innovation. We help our partners by making technical systems more robust, reliable, flexible, and easy to use. At the same time, we increase the resource efficiency of industrial processes by reducing waste, product failures, and emissions.

 

As part of our Competence Unit High-Performance Vision Systems you will join a multidisciplinary team of scientists, AI experts, electronics specialists, software developers, and project managers, who are enthusiastically researching on improving optical inspection and measurement systems towards higher performance (speed, resolution), robustness and flexibility. We cover the whole data processing chain - from image capture, image processing/computer vision to image content analysis - using both traditional and modern machine learning and AI methods.

Experienced Software Engineer (f/m/d) for Industrial Vision Systems

CENTER FOR VISION, AUTOMATION & CONTROL

  • You are the technology expert and technical lead for Software Development, driving innovation, advancing the team, and making strategic technical decisions, that ensure the success of our research and industry projects.
  • You draft concepts covering hardware selection, system architecture and GUI design, that deliver high-performance vision systems adaptable to the needs of industrial manufacturing.
  • You design and develop complex software architectures, that can reliably run on large-scale industrial systems with high-performance and stability.
  • You select the right approaches to scale our technology from rapid spike development to systems that run around the clock in industrial facilities.
  • You advance our software development with a high dedication to quality and a high commitment to well-tested and documented applications.
  • You also share your expertise with junior developers, offering strategic guidance in software requirements analysis, system design and structuring modular tasks.
  • With your interest in the newest technological developments, you advance our research projects and help establish new business models and concepts in the field of advanced vision systems.
  • Driven by a practical-problem solving approach, you develop industrial solutions that excel in performance, reliability and innovation.

Your qualifications as an Ingenious Partner:

  • Completed technical studies (at least MSc.) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of relevant industrial software development experience, with a high level of commitment and proven ability to work in a team, preferably a similar field
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate efficiently with clients and project managers, and to guide a development team
  • Very good knowledge programming skills in C++, Python
  • Experience with technologies and tools including DevOps (Docker, CI/CD GitLab), Software Architecture Design, and QA Test Automation
  • Knowledge of sensing and camera technology as well as factory automation of advantage
  • Good command of English and German (both required)

 

What to expect: 

The minimum gross annual salary on a full-time basis (38,5 h / week) according to the collective agreement is EUR 69.342,--. The actual salary will be determined individually, based on your qualifications and experience.
