AI:AT – the AI Factory Austria – is making Austria a hotspot for Artificial Intelligence in Europe.

AI:AT is a joint project of AIT and Advanced Computing Austria. It brings together top-level expertise in high-performance computing, artificial intelligence, and data ecosystems, creating an interdisciplinary innovation environment for research, development, start-ups, and industrial projects.

AI:AT – the AI Factory Austria – provides access to cutting-edge AI infrastructure, promotes trustworthy AI and ethical standards, and serves as a hub for networking with national and European partners. The goal is to work with partners from industry and public institutions to develop and implement forward-looking AI technologies and viable AI solutions.

As part of the collaboration within the AI Factory Austria, the Austrian Institute of Technology will delegate experts to the AI Factory Austria. For our location in Vienna (Karl-Farkas-Gasse, 1030), we are seeking a:

• Provide hands-on guidance and support as an AI Deployment Architect to customer teams for deploying, operating, and updating AI/ML solutions, including consulting and initial PoCs.
• Guide customer teams in end-to-end deployment and operation of AI/ML solutions in production environments.
• Advise on the implementation of scalable AI pipelines for model inference, monitoring, and updates.
• Provide guidance on configuring and managing infrastructure, including cloud platforms and containerised environments (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Ensure customer teams follow MLOps best practices: CI/CD, monitoring, versioning, and model lifecycle management.
• Advise on designing best practices for software stacks in both in-house and cloud-based deployments.
• Promote the use of open-source software where possible to minimise vendor lock-in and support European digital sovereignty

Your qualifications:

• Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related field.
• Experience deploying or advising on deployment of AI/ML solutions in production environments.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, containerisation, and orchestration tools, including configuration and best practices.
• Understanding of MLOps workflows, CI/CD, monitoring, and model lifecycle management in customer environments.
• Practical problem-solving skills and ability to provide guidance as an architect directly to customer teams.
• Knowledge of scalable data infrastructure and integration into operational workflows.
• Familiarity with AI frameworks is beneficial.
• Collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills in English; German is a plus.

• The position is funded by the AI Factory Austria until June 2028. An extension beyond this period may be possible depending on future project developments.
