Our Center for Digital Safety & Security located in Vienna invites applications for an internship. Our experts from the Center for Digital Safety & Security are developing state-of-the-art information and communication technologies to ensure that our systems are highly secure and reliable in the context of comprehensive digitalisation and global networking.
The research field Data Science within our Competence Unit “Data Science & Artificial Intelligence” is leading in applied research of highly innovative aspects for scalable Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications as well as data science consulting and solutions for informed decisions based on big, heterogeneous and real-time data under strict IT security and privacy conditions.
Internship “A Diverse Bonafide-Resource and Fake-Generator Dataset in German for Deepfake Speech Detection”
CENTER FOR DIGITAL SAFETY & SECURITY
- Under the guidance of our interdisciplinary team, you will work on different Human Speech Generation Systems (mainly from the techniques of Text-to-Speech and Voice Conversion) to generate fake speech from open-source bonafide speech.
- Fake speech and bonafide speech is gathered to generate a dataset which is proposed for deepfake speech detection. The dataset is then evaluated with state-of-the-art deep learning models.
- You will support us in our international project and get exciting insights into our technological environment.
- You will have not only the opportunity to discuss your work experiences and results with experienced scientific peers, but also to connect with other bachelor’s, master’s or PhD students.
Your qualifications as an Ingenious Partner:
- You are in your Bachelor’s studies (4th semester or higher) or are enrolled in your Master’s studies in the field of informatics / software engineering, electrical engineering or similar.
- Experience in developing Deep Learning Models for relevant Audio domain would be an advantage
- Knowledge about Speech Generation (Text-to-Speech and Voice Conversion) is a plus
- Interest in the conception of scientific studies and application-oriented questions of the industry
- Interest to work in a multidisciplinary team and collaborate on different topics
- Good verbal and written English skills (Team language is English)
What to expect:
- Duration of the internship: minimum 2 months
- Start date: ideally July 2026 – However there is some flexibility concerning the start-date
- A remuneration of EUR 1.415,-- gross per month for 38.5 hours per week. In addition to our company benefits, we offer flexible working conditions and work experience in a highly innovative environment.
