Head (m/f/d) of Center for Energy
- You are responsible for the development and implementation of the research strategy and the associated portfolio development with regard to funded research projects and direct commissions from industry.
- You create options for the scientific and commercial exploitation of research results (publications, patents, licensing models, spin-offs).
- You are responsible for achieving the Center’s scientific and commercial goals, strengthening interdisciplinary cooperation with other Centers and contributing to the implementation of the overall AIT strategy.
- You continuously expand national and international strategic partnerships with industry, universities and research institutions.
- You are responsible for the management and development of experts. You ensure an optimal environment for researchers that promotes innovation and first-class research results, strengthens collaboration and motivation, and makes the Center an attractive employer both nationally and internationally.
Your qualifications as an Ingenious Partner:
- Habilitation or equivalent* in a technically relevant scientific field
- Proven expertise in at least two of the Center's research areas listed below:
- Integrated energy systems and sector coupling
- Energy economics and logistics
- Electrical power generation and distribution (hybrid power plant technologies, integration of renewable energies and storage technologies)
- Thermal energy technology (heating and cooling networks, high-temperature heat pumps, HVAC systems)
- Hydrogen technology (integration into the energy system, development and testing of electrolyzers including material development)
- Electrical system components and power electronics for medium-voltage applications
- Decarbonization of cities and efficient building technologies
- Modelling, simulation and optimization of electrical and thermal energy systems and components
- Digitalization and automation of energy systems
- Several years of management experience in technology, research or industrial companies (with personnel and budget responsibility)
- Competence in managing international and national research programs as well as complex research and innovation projects
- Very good knowledge of the relevant stakeholders in the energy sector and an active, international network
- Appreciative and respectful communication and a team-oriented style of working
- Fluency in German and English
What to expect:
A minimum gross annual salary of EUR 160.000. The actual total salary package is determined individually according to your qualifications and experience. We offer the option of full-time or part-time work in combination with flexible teleworking to best suit your individual, professional (e.g. university affiliation/professorship) or private requirements.
