The Center for Innovation Systems & Policy focuses on current and future requirements for research and innovation systems, as well as on the actions and policy options emerging for research, technology, and innovation policy (RTI policy) and its stakeholders. Our work concentrates on transformation processes ("transitions") in fields such as energy, mobility, food systems, and urban development, as well as on potentially disruptive technologies and their potential impacts, particularly in the context of the digitalisation and decarbonisation of the economy and society. For our location in Vienna, we are seeking for an:

Expert Advisor (m/f/d) for Research, Innovation & Industrial Policy

CENTER FOR INNOVATION SYSTEMS & POLICY

  • Contributing to and leading projects on current RTI and industrial policy issues at national and European levels;
  • Addressing socio-technical transformations, particularly related to digitalisation and decarbonisation;
  • Conducting comparative analysis and foresight of current RTI and industrial policy developments and strategies relevant to Austria and Europe;
  • Communicating scientific content to stakeholders in policy, business, and society, for example, in the form of policy briefs, short expert assessments, and through social media;
  • Collaborating with the center’s and AIT management on internationally visible initiatives in the field of RTI and industrial policy (e.g., Technology Talks Austria, international networks).
Your qualifications as an Ingenious Partner:
  • A degree in social or political sciences, (macro-)economics, or a multidisciplinary field, preferably with a Ph.D., along with a broad interest in current research and innovation policy developments relevant to the economy and society;
  • Extensive, including international, professional experience in research, research funding, and/or RTI policy organisations at a national or European level;
  • Experience with and understanding of qualitative and quantitative social research methods and their interpretation;
  • Interest in and experience with the application of foresight methods and/or the evaluation of policy measures;
  • Experience in communicating scientific content to diverse target groups;
  • Excellent communication skills in German and English, and preferably in an additional foreign language.


What to expect:
The minimum gross annual salary on a full-time basis (38,5 h / week) according to the collective agreement is EUR 57.890,--. The actual salary will be determined individually, based on your qualifications and experience.
