Our Center for Digital Safety & Security is looking for new Ingenious Partner for our location in Vienna. Our experts from the Center for Digital Safety & Security are developing state-of-the-art information and communication technologies to ensure that our systems are highly secure and reliable in the context of comprehensive digitalisation and global networking – Hereby we focus on a variety of key technologies like Distributed IT Systems, Internet of Things, IoT, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain Technologies, Quantum & Photonic Technologies, Wireless Systems (6G) and Digital solutions for crisis & disaster management.
Our Cyber Security Research Field, part of the Competence Unit "Security and Communication Technologies", specialises in applied research for digital security and is a pioneer in developing highly innovative concepts, algorithms and systems for anomaly detection, cyber threat intelligence, penetration testing and cryptography. Through our groundbreaking technologies we are simulating modern ICT and OT infrastructures as well as cyber-attacks, which serve as a basis for conducting cyber exercises with the aim of helping companies to increase the resilience of their critical infrastructures.
Junior Scientist (f/m/d) for Collaborative Systems in Cyber Security
CENTER FOR DIGITAL SAFETY & SECURITY
- You will actively participate in the development and implementation of cyber ranges, simulating security risks and cyber-attacks to enhance the preparedness and resilience of our systems.
- Under the guidance of our interdisciplinary team, you will apply your in-depth knowledge of workflow technologies to develop and optimize collaborative IT systems, ensuring seamless integration and process management, specifically in context of cyber exercises.
- You will work with distributed and interactive systems, applying your expertise in cooperative systems to enable effective collaboration and interaction across multiple platforms and environments.
- You will leverage your strong background in knowledge engineering to design and implement advanced techniques for managing information and structuring data in complex IT systems.
- You will utilize semantic technologies, particularly in the areas of information management and knowledge representation, to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of data-driven processes.
- You will contribute to cutting-edge research, ideally in the fields of workflow technologies, knowledge engineering, or related disciplines, further establishing yourself as a thought leader in the industry.
- You will model and design secure system architectures, focusing on cyber security challenges, to ensure robust protection against evolving threats.
- You will help organizing workshops and presenting research outcomes to internal and external stakeholders, fostering collaboration and driving innovation.
- You will support the development of Proof-of-Concept solutions for novel cyber range applications in course of European research projects, together with industry leaders and authorities.
Your qualifications as an Ingenious Partner:
- Completed Bachelor studies in the field of Computer Science / Business Informatics or an equivalent qualification
- Broad cyber security expertise, including risk management approaches, threat modelling concepts, security standards, frameworks and governance models
- Proven knowledge of workflow systems and process engineering
- Programming skills, for instance in Python or a similar language
- Know-how in hacking tools, as well as web and developer tools is an advantage
- Ability to work in a team, high commitment, interest, and willingness to learn new technologies
- Good German language skills (C1+), good English language skills
What to expect:
The minimum gross annual salary on a full-time basis (38,5 h / week) according to the collective agreement is EUR 55.720,--. The actual salary will be determined individually, based on your qualifications and experience.
