AI:AT is a joint project of AIT and Advanced Computing Austria. It brings together top-level expertise in high-performance computing, artificial intelligence, and data ecosystems, creating an interdisciplinary innovation environment for research, development, start-ups, and industrial projects.
AI:AT – the AI Factory Austria – provides access to cutting-edge AI infrastructure, promotes trustworthy AI and ethical standards, and serves as a hub for networking with national and European partners. The goal is to work with partners from industry and public institutions to develop and implement forward-looking AI technologies and viable AI solutions.
As part of the collaboration within the AI Factory Austria, INiTS – Vienna’s High Tech Incubator will delegate experts to the AI Factory Austria. For our location in Vienna, we are seeking a:
Technical Business Support Specialist (f/m/d)
AI:AT - AI Factory Austria
- Advise AI-focused startups and SMEs on sustainable business development, go-to-market strategy, and regulatory alignment, supporting their path from prototype to scalable, trustworthy AI solutions.
- Provide tailored guidance on business model development, commercialisation strategy, and scaling in the context of AI ventures.
- Advise on ethical, legal, and regulatory compliance frameworks relevant to AI, including the EU AI Act, data governance, and IP.
- Design and deliver workshops and 1:1 sessions on AI business building, strategic partnerships, and ecosystem navigation.
- Facilitate meaningful connections with relevant actors: investors, legal experts, policymakers, and academic partners.
- Contribute to the development of toolkits, playbooks, and templates that support AI entrepreneurship in line with EU policy and global best practices.
Your qualifications:
- 5–7 years of industry experience designing and deploying ML solutions, ideally including production use cases
- Proven ability to deliver technical training formats with clarity and hands-on depth
- Strong proficiency in machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn
- Familiarity with distributed computing platforms (e.g. Spark, Ray, Dask), and orchestration tools like Airflow, Prefect, or Metaflow
- Experience with containerization (Docker), infrastructure orchestration (Kubernetes, SLURM), and ML pipeline automation (MLflow, Weights & Biases)
- Hands-on expertise in fine-tuning, quantisation, pruning, and evaluation of large language models (LLMs) and RAG-based systems
- Ability to work independently, drive initiatives, and collaborate across teams including curriculum and marketing functions
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical topics to diverse audiences
